The artist

Every piece of this was illustrated by Joshua Noom.

Three paintings, with fifty coping statements set into them. Not a picture with words added — the statements sit inside the clouds and arches and torn shapes, which is why they can be read at all.

Joshua Noom's self-portrait mark — a figure in a cap walking behind a large poster reading NOOM, drawn in his heavy black line style.

In his own words.

Joshua Noom, seated against a wood wall, in a black-and-white photograph edged with his own hand-drawn border.
A visual artist specializing in detailed and bold illustration, blended with traditional graphic design, and an organic sense of typography.

That’s how he describes the work. He follows it with: “Or as my 6 year old daughter tells people, I ‘color’…”

His illustration and lettering have been made for Disney, Adobe, Lululemon, YETI, Burton, Warner Music Group and Lollapalooza, among others. Then he illustrated three puzzles about anxiety, depression, and staying present.
